Hey guys I just received my roommate assignments only to find out that me, my requested roommate, and a blind roommate where put into an "Extended Triple" dorm room, meaning that the dorm room was a double but they decided to make it a triple by adding an extra bed. I immediately called the University and they told me they will start "De-Tripling" as soon as possible and that it was there first priority, I want to know what does "De-Tripling" mean. Can anyone give me recommendations on what to do because I really dont want to be stuck in an "Increased Triple" Dorm room.

I believe de-tripling means they’re gonna try and make the dorm room back into a double.

There’s nothing you can do so just relax and be glad that you aren’t that 3rd kid coming in who will probably be shuffled around later.

Ask them what the discount on the room costs will be while you’re in the triple.

(They will say there is no such discount, but making that point might move you up the list.)

That’s absolutely what I would do! Typically triples cost less than doubles so if you’re sharing with 2 others and are in a triple, be sure to pay the triple rate. Because the school knows this, it could really grab their attention to fix your particular room sooner rather than later.
