I know of a person who is Iraqi and an American citizen but doesn't want to state it on his application next yr because hes afraid the college admissions board will look bad upon that, due to recent times. What do oyu really think he shouol do?

If the person is proud of their heritage, write it down.

Go one step further and write about what it's like to be an American of Iraqi origins in recent times.

I don't think that Americans or American College admissions offices dislike Iraqis. We disliked all those weapons of mass destruction that Iraqis turned out not to have.

really dont think it will be that much of a boost or disadvantage but an essay on the topic like ddomino suggested could be a nice touch.

Hey Fsu-uf! I had your back on that prep school/Vanderbilt link. I signed off too with every control-freak parent on the board blasting away.

since i can't send you a private message...i just wanted to tell you, thank you for having my back, those parents seem to be 100k bricks who dont listen.

I posted something similar to the following on a similar thread: If a school will reject you purely because of your ethnic background, that probably is not a school you would want to attend anyway.

Look at an application? Most don't offer Iraqi as an option under race (which is entirely optional).
