Putting Irrelevant Experience?

I'm planning to join an Intramural Volleyball Team in college, but I'm not going to be captain.

On one hand, it shows I know how to be a team player.
On the other, it's not really significant because it was for fun / not relevant.

Should I still put these kinds stuff on my resume / LinkedIn?

No.

What if I was captain?

Honestly… I still wouldn’t. Ask a professor if you can help with research, get a summer internship in your field, or ANY kind of paid work experience to go on your resume. Intramural sports just aren’t resume material…

Alright. I was stressing about being captain / not being captain because I wanted leadership experience. The way I see it now is that it’s just recreational fun.

Don’t put it on Linkedin.

Put it on your resume only if it’s relevant. Like if you’re applying to coach a volleyball team or something like that.

It doesn’t show you’re a team player. It shows that you know how to play volleyball.
