For one of the colleges that I am applying to, there is a section where I can add a resume. It says that “if I wish” to add a resume, I can. Should I include a resume? The question is optional, but I don’t know if this means that I really should add one to look like a stronger applicant. Thanks!
Does the resume include information you cannot fit under your extra curricular activities? For example, maybe you were head of a program like global brigades, and discuss your trip and service abroad in the description. A resume would give you the chance to discuss the individual fundraising events that you held. Or maybe you’re applying to a major like public relations - a resume would give you the chance to highlight your experiences in marketing/leadership in seemingly unrelated activities like sports.
If you think your resume would mostly repeat the information in your common application extra curricular activities, omit it. Also look at the specific school’s instructions; Yale, for example, allows for a resume but states on their website that it’s mostly for students with histories in film/music/drama.
