does anybody have info on the number of students who will be called from the Priority Waitlist?

There was some rumor the other day that a "cross coach" (?) was overheard saying that enrollment was higher than anticipated, but the post sounded unreliable.

I also heard that few (or even none) will be called from the waitlist but the rumor could've came from the same person and thus be unreliable as well.

what happens if you dont get in after the pwl deadline on the 4th/6th? do they reject you flat out or just move you to regular wl or keep you on pwl for longer?

I fear that this is true now. I'm on the priority waitlist for both MCS and Eng. and apparently CMU called my school (Shady Side Academy - in Pittsburgh), and talked my counselor, saying that enrollment has been filled and no one will be admitted off the wait list.

I think I have **** my pants. Well, Pitt, here I come [if it's true].

I might be in some sort of denial phase but it just doesn't make sense that past several years an acceptance rate of atleast 50% for priority waitlisted students is seen, and then this year 0%, I just doubt the possibility of that. Plus when I went to Pittsburgh during the Information Session for the waitlisted students, the admissions people seemed encouraging in that many students would be taken off the priority waitlist. I guess we'll all find out in about 6 hours.

Lol.....i'm not even on the pwl, i'm on the regular waitlist. But i got accepted to my second choice college at cmu, and i wrote a letter to them explaining, among other things, that admitting me off the wait list won't increase enrollment (as i enrolled at cmu anyways).
