Q:Academic Suspension and Graduate School

Seriously need help!
I was suspended for one semester from college. I am now studying at another university (not CC) this semester. Next semester, I plan to go back to the previous one where I stayed for three semesters.

I have two questions:

1) What if my return is denied? My grades this semester in the new school won't be very high, probably several Bs and Cs but I do make progress because I got Cs, Ds and Fs before. I think going back is crucial to my future.

2) If I go back successfully, I am going to retake several courses. However, my final GPA won't be above 3.5 no matter how hard I try. Can I go into a good graduate school with a low GPA and a suspension record on transcript? Will they look at my gpa in a different way regarding my suspension?

I am an international student, Asian.
I'll provide more information if needed.

Thank you!

1) If your return is denied, then it denied and you can’t proceed to go back. You were getting C’s, D’s, and F’s in graduate school? No employer is going to like that.

2) I honestly doubt you will be able too. You can get into graduate schools but nothing with a reputable name. You tarnished your chances of it so you must get A’s because it is CRUCIAL to your future.

Good luck!

Thank you! you make me feel I am doomed, which I guess is the truth~

Don’t rush to return to the first school if your situation hasn’t changed for the better.
Why were you doing poorly at the first school, and why are you not doing better now? If the problem is English, as you say you are an international, maybe step away from academics for a while and work on your English skills so you can better succeed in school. If your problems are not with the English language, assess your weaknesses and address them…otherwise nothing will change for you.

boysx3 gives sound advice. Correct the problem first before returning to school.

Why do you want to go to Graduate school if you are struggling to get through undergrad?

I’d just concentrate on GRADUATING, rather than Grad School.
