Q-drop or pass/fail?

Long story short, I'm a first-year student in McCombs and I've decided I would like to remove Calculus 2 (M408L) from my schedule. I'm past the regular add/drop deadline so I've decided I'd either like to use my Q-drop or just take it pass/fail and get above a 60.

My question is this - which option is more appropriate? I'm only taking 14 hours so if I drop it I'd be at 10 hours and I'm wondering because I'm here on a large scholarship. On the other hand, I could pass-fail it but I really don't want to have this class on my plate. The only thing holding me back from the Q-drop is the fact that I'll dip below the minimum 12 hours, but one of my friends did it (finished last semester with 9 hours) and was fine.

What do you guys think?

I don’t know if you made your decision yet (the Q drop deadline is Nov 5 for the 2013 fall semester) but I would say to Q-drop since you say that you want less on your plate.

But since you’re on a scholarship the Q-drop and/or falling under the required hours to be a full time student may affect it (Depends on the type of scholarship you have)

I am also a first year McCombs student and Calc 2 is really difficult for me as well, but I know there will be some kind of curve at the end of the year (maybe ~3 points on the final grade?) So don’t despair yet! Just make sure to do well on your last midterm and your final. Good luck!!!
