hey, just a Q:

whats the difference between national universities and liberal arts colleges?

As far as I know, Universities are larger, they have both Undergraduate and Graduate education. Whereas Liberal arts colleges are smaller, and have only Undergraduate education.

If I am wrong, then forgive me :)

In the US:

Universities (generally) are larger, and offer both undergraduate and post-graduate degrees. Most universities are divided into smaller divisions that are called colleges (College of Agriculture, College of Engineering, etc.).

Colleges (generally) are smaller, and often only offer undergraduate degrees.

BUT since there are no regulations about how institutions of tertiary education must be organized or named, there also are Universities that only offer undergraduate education, and Colleges that offer multiple post-graduate degrees. Some of these institutions are not even named University or College, but rather Academy, Institute, Conservatory, etc.

What is important is that the place where you study is fully accredited by one of the regional accrediting agencies, and that the place offers the field of study you are interested in. You can do the basic reading on higher education in the US at: International Students - EducationUSA

aha, i see.

Thanx that explained it all. :)
