QAS is not available

I recieved this in the email today.

Dear ************

Thank you for registering to take the SAT®.

Although you ordered and paid for the Question-and-Answer Service (QAS),
the QAS is not available for the administration for which you have registered.
We will process a refund of your QAS fee in the same manner in which payment
was made.

The Student Answer Service is available for this administration and can be
ordered up to five months from January 21, 2017. Please contact Customer Service
at 866-756-7346 to order the SAS.

Sincerely,

The SAT Program

What is that supposed to mean?

Do not pay for the student answer service. It means that you can see your answers and which ones you got wrong, but you will not be able to see the corresponding test questions. It’s useless becasue you will not see questions. The question and answer service is only available for certain test dates.

@Lindagaf
In the old SAT they used to tell you for free how many questions you had wrong per section and also if they were easy or hard.
Do they do the same for the new SAT? I was looking at a sample SAT report on line and I did not see that, only the scores and sub scores. For example do you know from the free report if most of the mistakes where in math with no calc or math with calc?
I would think if you pay for the report maybe you can have a bit better info of your mistakes even if you don’t see the questions.

My kid did the old SAT 2 years ago. We paid for the student answer service, and only discovered when it was returned to my daughter that it was literally just the answer sheet. I seem to recall that it did indicate level of difficulty for a question. However, it was still totally useless. The answers you see are literally a copy of your answer sheet with whatever bubbles are marked wrong. Just seeing what you got wrong with no questions to compare to doesn’t help. My kid got a hih score, but if I recall, there were a few questions wrong that were not hard. Who knows if she accidentally bubbled the wrong answer.

Thanks for warning me about it so I won’t order it in the future. However, my question is that since I had already done the SAT, why would they tell me a couple weeks after that it wasn’t available?

Which SAT (date) where you trying to buy the QAS?

If you took the test on Sunday, you will get a refund because that test will not be released. It will be reused on a future date.

The recycling of tests nonsense.

Jan 21st, however the building had no power and it got delayed to the next Saturday.

Yes, that’s why. They are only releasing the test administered on Sat Jan 21st. Because you took the test in another day you can not have the QAS as you did not take the same test.
