Hello everyone! I am currently a junior in high school, about to be a senior, and I'm thinking about college and majors. The classes I enjoy the most in school are the sciences, currently AP Chemistry, and math (Trig/Pre-Calc). I plan to take AP Physics and AP Calc-Ab next year, and I would love to take up engineering and make it my career, but I'm not sure which major. So far the only thing that interests me the most would be petroleum engineering. The idea of extracting resources and oil from underground and turning it into product fascinates me. I don't know much about the courses required or the people involved with petroleum engineering so get ready for a barrage of questions. Answers to any of them would be appreciated. Thank you everyone!

-Why did you choose petroleum engineering over any other engineering field? (Other then the salary)

-What courses did you take in high school and how well did you do in them?

-What do you like most about your jobs? Or if you're in college what do you like most about your degree?

-Where are you/did you attend college?

-How is the life of the average petroleum engineer?

-How secure do you think your job is/will be?

I understand some of these questions are more personal then the average question, but I want to make sure this field is for me. Any help is appreciated.
