Q's about legal guardianship in fafsa...

Hi guys.

So this is short story about me.

I am U.S Citizen. My parents are not.

I had surgery in Korea 2 years ago. And stayed in Korea and in bed for 2 years.</p>

Just got back to U.S 1 week ago. applied CC and registered CLASSES.

So what should I put for Legal guardianship thing?? I put 'yes' 4 4days ago, and school wanted 'Proof Of Legal guardianship' thing. what the heck is that...??

I am 21 years old, so I thought I am independent student.

But my parents send me the money for rent, food, and other things.

So.... what should i choose for that 'Legal guardianship' thing??

If i check yes, It says I am independent student. But when i check no, it says i am dependent student.

Do independent and dependent have no connection with age?

Plz HELP :)

You are a dependent student and will need to add parent information to your FAFSA. Legal guardianship is when an adult who is not a biological parent of the child is granted custody by a court of law … that person is more or less given the role of “parent” by the court. You are not independent due to age until you are 24.

thank u very much kelsmom

now, i get an idea what is legal guardianship means…

thank u so much :)
