I know that Quinnipiac is most well known for nursing, physical therapy, etc. but does anyone know what the English program is like? Obviously QU is not one of the top schools for English, but is the program decent? Any input would be great, thanks!

QU is known for the strength of the health sciences, the English program is strong. Couple of reasons for that, one is that there is an MAT (master’s in the art of Teaching) program that many students are interested in and English is a very good major for future employment in teaching. Second, we have a lot of students who love to write so English makes sense for them. The creative writing program is strong as well and having journalism here also kind of crosses into the english program.

I have a friend who’s a senior year English major and QU was her top choice when looking at schools. She’s also in the MAT program for teaching, so that had a big impact in her coming here. The cool thing about the English program is that it has a big focus on literature study, but it also has a concentration in creative writing, which is really popular.
