Quadruple Major

Just wondering if it's possible to graduate in four years and quadruple major (the four majors would be History & Philosophy of Science, Economics, Political Science, Philosophy)

I'd be coming in with the following credits:

6 Poli Sci Credits (from the Comp. Gov and U.S. Gov AP tests)
6 Econ Credits (from the Econ AP tests)
4 Chemistry Credits (from AP test, planning to use for Gen. Ed Reqs)
4 Statistics Credits (through the CHS program at Pitt)

Well, is it possible?

There’s a Politics-Philosophy major where you take classes from the political science, philosophy, and economics departments. HPS can be used as an additional major.

http://www.as.pitt.edu/undergraduate/advising/pdf/majorsheets/PS-PHIL.pdf

Pitt has a lot of gen-ed requirements. So I think it would be tough to fulfill all of those and then quadruple major.

It may be possible, but you’ll just have to do the work and figure out if the credits will all fit.

I can tell you this:

 • the Chem will count towards 1 of the science gen eds.
 • the Stats will count towards the Quantitative gen ed.
 • the Econ should count towards the social science gen ed.
 • Poly sci might count towards the Philosophy or Foreign Culture, but I really don’t know.
