Quadruplets Admitted to Yale

Madness? This is SPARTA!

That took way too long.

But seriously, I posted on this thread yesterday and it’s gotten to at least double the size it was then. There are some ridiculous comments, some misguided ones, some good ones. The post right before mine written by DiamondT is very good, and much better articulated than anything I could say. Colleges are trying to admit a diverse class, not just make up for historical and current inequalities. But if any of you doubt that those exist, look at this.

Is this supposed to offend me? I’m already in at Wharton and never had an interest in Yale.

You sounds like a preacher or a dictator preaching!
“A university is looking to accept a CLASS.” Yeah, we know!
Are they the dictators forming America a “new CLASS” at colleges huh ? If college is a symbol of learning then why the ones who strive hard to reach the destination is deleted for other factors
If top America colleges fail to delivery the concept that university is the best place for people who are hungry for the knowledge to reach, then they are not the best colleges as they claim. We are trying to figure out how to play this game, the CLASS game, that’s all

Hard to believe all of the quads would want to go to college together. Deciding to split off from one’s womb-mates would seem to be a more profound step towards establishing one’s individuality than all of the grotesque red make-up in the world applied haphazardly to one’s eyes.

This is ridiculous. I’ve chatted with a couple of the quadruplets on the admitted students website, and they seem very smart, kind, and down-to-earth–exactly the kind of student Yale should be interested in admitting.

OF COURSE there are going to be people who deserve to go to Yale who don’t get in, there are just far too many people applying to get around that. But nobody who does get in doesn’t deserve to go. Yale knows what it’s doing, it’s absurd for a bunch of 17 year-olds on an internet forum to think we know better. Quite honestly, it just smacks of sour grapes. Had you all gotten in, you would probably be very excited for all the diversity at Yale, rather than condemn the methods used to get there.

Pigsatsea, either you are a masterful and well created ■■■■■ or one the most detestable posters I have ever seen, anywhere.

i agree with LBloom. almost everyone who’s complaining about the acceptance of the quadruplets on this thread was deferred. this whole thing sounds like sour grapes to me.

especially this:

it’s really not about the quads, is it? or affirmative action? it’s about your annoyance at the deferral. i’m sorry you were deferred, but stop blaming minority applicants for taking your spots. the ones who got accepted early are just as qualified as anyone else (including me–in fact, the minorities i’ve been talking to on the accepted students chat are more objectively qualified than i am). scores and class rank aren’t everything.

this. who are you to say that the quads are less qualified than you? all we know about them is the range of their class ranks, the fact that one of them had a perfect CR section, and their essay topics. essentially, we know very little.

Ya…that 40+ rank would destroy any asian or white application…

Its only an acceptance by YALE, I havent seen any publish report to where they will marticulate.

For those up in arms about all of this; realize you do have choices.

If you’ve been deferred by Yale and are upset about Yale accepting the Quads- Contact Yale and rescind your deferral so you may no longer be considered in the RD round.

If you’ve been rejected by Yale and are upset about Yale acceptance of the Quads- Move on and put the same energy you are on these posts in your applications to other colleges.

Also, plan on getting a single room, or else GASP your room mate may end up being one of the QUADS.

Again, the racism of many of these posts is shocking. Can Black students be THAT threatening to non-white people??? Were people up in arms when George W. Bush got admitted to Yale (as did many other unqualified white male legacies???. Read the book by Jerome Karabel, entited, The Chosen which chronicles the historic admissions patterns of Harvard, Yale and Princeton and then get back to me on how “unfair” these HIGHLY qualified students are to be at Yale. If Black students walked on water, they would still be said “not qualified”. For all of you students who didn’t get in EA or at all, suck it up and move on. Your denial had nothing to do with these quads acceptance (except in your warped minds). The world has change, thanks goodness and it no longer revolves around whiteness and disgunted Asians (last I looked Yale and all of the other Ivies have no shortage of white students or Asians).

^amen lmpw

pigsatsea, you are one of the most arrogant, insensitive, immature posters I’ve seen to date.

You obviously are incredibly bitter about being deferred; your bitterness isn’t entirely unwarranted. But your attacks on others, your claims that AA is the ONLY thing involved in your deferral, and your repeated *****ing and moaning about how Yale is seemingly against you… all are unbelievably jejune.

Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, the personality that has been noticed by me (and countless others on CC, I’m sure) was also noticed by admissions officers at Yale?

Have you ever considered that maybe, just maybe, there are those more deserving of a spot at Yale than you? Kids that have excellent grades and test scores (as I’m sure yours are) - but that are genuinely kind, considerate people?

I would’ve been very, very surprised to see you accepted.

@southeastitan- did you read prestige_factor’s post? why are you so confident that some minorities are subjected to systemic racism and others are not? find me some more reputable sources than your own overconfident posts, and maybe i will be more convinced

wow. you just exemplified the blatant bias against asians. I CANNOT agree with this. freaking go to the yale EA pledge thread, look at the profiles of all the asian students, and tell me that most of them fit your stereotypical description. most asians these days are well-rounded and DO take leadership positions in school. for example, me. for example, every asian person im friends with. for example, the vast majority of asians who applied to yale and got deferred

idk what “disgunted” is supposed to mean, but I’d just like to point out that, for the record, the immigration of asian elites to america is fairly recent. so um, sorry for having the world “revolve” around us for the past, what, 10 years. oh I guess that era’s over and now we should just be subjected to race quotas! YAY race quotas, aren’t they grrrrreat?

whoops wrong page

yes, yes, yes, and YES AND

have you ever stopped to read my application??? NOOO I DON’T THINK SO SHUT UR HOLE

college applicants have a personality??? *GASP now that is a shocker!!

i am very very very very bitter about my deferral. thanks for noticing

and seriously, ALL FOUR of them?? one or two is fine but all FOUR is wayy too many to be just a result of luck. it’s like slap slap slap slap in your face to the other deferred/rejected applicants who were qualified
