Generally, which quad do you recommend? (current stony brook students) and why?

I can only speak for Kelly Quad [since I only lived there and West Apts], but I loved it nonetheless.

Pros:
suite style
common room
bathroom only shared by 6-7ppl
balcony
kelly dining hall [late hours; market is open 24/7]
relatively close to main campus
close to lirr
elevators

Cons:
weird shaped rooms [L-shaped] that may seem cramped
the buildings are dark-looking [outer]
no AC

I really love tabler. Even though it is one of the farthest quads from the academic mall, I think it’s worth it. It is one of the prettiest quads because there is so man plants all around and you can just go out and lay in the grass in the middle of the quad when it’s nice out. The TAC (Tabler Arts Center/Cafe) Has a dunkin donuts and freschetta which aren’t too bad. The TAC also hosts a variety of activities like open-mic, night, and even some special performances in the blackbox theater. The rooms are suite-style and were just renovated last summer. I find them to be pretty well-kept. I really like it here, and I also find the people who live here to be cool too haha

How about Roth and Mendelsohn quads?

yeah I agree with the op, I`m in roth this fall.advantages/drawbacks? Although zemotions my tourguide at admitted students day did say that roth is the only quad on campus with a.c. which is a definite plus

I second wdrmhbs; Tabler is awesome.

Roth is the best, they have AC and heat adjustments (I lived in kelly and it was really cold, we couldnt control the heat).

Roth also has Wendy’s and SBU Subs, both are the better choices for food in stony

cheaaaaaaaa go roth!
