(Disclaimer: I am unsure where exactly to post this question, so I am sorry if it is in the wrong section).
I currently live in Virginia, and have since I was eight years old with my mother and sister (Father is out of the picture). I am currently attending a community college in Virginia, with hopes of transferring to UVA after completing my Associates Degree. However, I am planning to move to New Jersey for 9 months and work there, and after nine months immediately transfer into UVA. My mother will still remain and live in Virginia along with my younger sister, and I am going to complete my associates degree online with the same Virginia community college (I have completed all of my in-person classes this year, so next year I can complete the degree online).
I have my High school degree in Virginia, and I also will complete an Associates degree that is also in Virginia. So, will moving “temporarily” to New Jersey and working there for nine months make me an out of state student for Virginia? I am unsure if this is relevant, but in the past, I have worked in Virginia and filled taxes every year.
Thank you, in advance, for any insight and advice!
