Your weighted GPA of 3.8 is cumulative or the Capped weighted for the UC’s and CSU’s?

UC’s and CSU’s are test blind for the 2022 admission cycle so your SAT will not be considered for admissions.

https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

Only a few UC’s offer Accounting as a major so if you went with Biology at the other campuses, the admit rates would be on different level and more competitive.

Are you within the local service area for any of the Cal States? https://www2.calstate.edu/apply/freshman/documents/csulocaladmission-serviceareas.pdf

SJSU, SFSU and CSU East Bay are Likely/Target schools.

For the UC’s, it will depend upon which campuses you are applying for Accounting and which for Biology (impacted at many UC campuses).

2020 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79 capped weighted and not major specific:

UCB: 2%

UCLA: 1%

UCSD: 8%

UCSB: 9%

UCI: 9%

UCD: 17%

UCSC: 59%

UCR: 65%

UCM: 95%

2020 Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:

UCB: 14%

UCLA: 8%

UCSD: 39%

UCSB: 40%

UCD: 55%

UCI: 38%

UCSC: 82%

UCR: 90%

UCM: 97%

I would concentrate more on the Cal States if accounting is your top choice major. Add in Sacramento State, Chico State, CSU Fullerton, Cal Poly Pomona to name a few.

I would also look at Loyola Marymount, University of San Diego, University of San Francisco and the University of the Pacific for private schools.

i agree, most of the UCs are going to be a reach. UCR is probably a slight reach and UCM is a match - though i don’t think they have accounting.

Most of the CSUs are probably open to you. If you are looking for the traditional residential student experience, I’d take a good look at Sonoma and Chico. If you are looking for more of a commuter school vibe, Sac, CPP, SJ, SF, Fullerton and Northridge.

A few more OOS options to look at - UNR, Boise State and Or State.

Apply broadly and good luck.

Solid stats. Consider Arizona, Utah and Oregon as well?

Biological sciences is one of the most competitive UC majors (after CS and Engineering). Any other field you’re interested in, beside Accounting, such as Agricultural sciences?
In terms of UCs, UCD would be a reach. Don’t bother applying to UCB/Ucla.
Seconding Sonoma, CPP, and Chico (honors).
Look into WUE opportunities.
Run the NPC on Lewis&Clark, UPuget Sound, URedlands, Chapman, LMU-LA.
