Quality of life in philly

ImpBoy-That sounds like a mysogynist statement and not very sophisticated at that...hmmm. The question about campus....I am a Penn employee and a Philadelphia native. Living on campus is by far the best way to get the "Penn Experience". The campus is lovely; great achitecture, lovely gardens, shopping and restaurants and usually filled with students. Drexel University also borders Penn's campus, so it is a very student friendly area. There is crime, as in any densely populated area, but Penn has an excellent security force. On weekends, they seem to be everywhere! Every intersection has a Penn Security person standing by, and they are available to walk you to your destination. The LUCY runs around campus, but I am not sure how late it runs. Philadelphia is a major metropolitan area and as such, has crime, in particular a lot of drug crime in certain parts of the city. What impresses me most about Penn is that security sends updates when even the smallest things are going on. So, if there are a rash of I-Pod thefts, you will get an automated e-mail giving you a heads up. All campuses have crime, I worry most about those who sweep it under the rug. Forewarned is forearmed.
