I was talking with a girl who goes to Northwestern and she was saying that most people aren't thrilled about the school and it's social life. If this is true, how much of this can be attributed to seasonal depression? Does most everybody feel this way? Are the students happy? I am not a party animal, but I am a very social person who loves interacting and having fun with all different people. I am concerned that the people at Northwestern are more concerned with the degree that they are receiving rather then the actual experience of college. I know that college is what you make of it, but I don't want to feel like I'm searching for the few people truely excited to be at Northwestern. Post with any comments.

Not true...

um no...is NU a party school? not compared to other schools. but there are always parties and events happening if you keep an eye out for them. there are plays nearly every weekend, comedy shows, guest speakers are constantly making appearances (Bob Saget from Full House was just here last week, Roger Ebert was here last night) and for parties...if they're on campus they're up north near the frats, if off-campus, they're in someone's apartments.

college is what you make of it. if you befriend no one but heads-always-in the books people, that will be your social life. there aren't many people here who are strictly studious, though. in general NU students know how to balance. we know when it's time to buckle down and get work done, but we also know how to have a good time.

well said, tophatinparis88!
