Quantitative Reasoning Requirement

I got a 570 on my SAT I QR. Sad, yes. But what is worse is that I didn't get to 600 - the score needed to satisfy the QR requirement! This is horrible... I'm awful at math. Any current students know of easy classes to take to get this heinous requirement out of the way? And, do you take one or two classes? How about the QR test... is that relatively easy?

I am very, very sad. Please tell me there are some classes that satisfy the QR requirement that will be nice to an English major like me!

Option 1: Take Math 16a+b..u need 2 semesters, that's the easiest math class offered here...i heard stats 2 is pretty ridiculous in terms of easyness...so maybe that too

Option 2: take the QR test offered by the math department

Option 3: take it at a community college...it might be the best option if you REALLY stink at math just go to www.assist.org to see which classes u can transfer

hope that helped!

Thank you so much... Well, it won't be fun.
I do have one more question, though. If it's 2 semesters for Math 16A+B, does that mean if I take Stats 2 I would have to take another course since it's just one semester? Or does that class cover the entire QR requirement?

all classes are semester .....so if u take stats 2 take math 16a next

Sorry to be obsessive about it, but I just want to make sure I completely understand this.. I checked the L&S website, where it says:

"You may satisfy this requirement as follows:
letter grade of C- or higher in
any course in the mathematics department of at least 2 semester units or..." stats and CS.
I'm not familiar with college course terminology. 2 semester units.. Does that mean 2 classes or 1 class that counts for 2 units?

I just want to make sure that if I end up going to Berkeley, I don't sign up for 2 math classes when I just need one. Also, it would be helpful just to try and understand units/classes/etc...

Thanks again
