My counselor is going to submit my Quarter 1 grades soon for ED, but there is a slight problem.

I attend online school so my papers or assignments are graded slowly. It usually depends on the teacher's feelings.

Up to now, I have got all A's excpet 2 B's. But, my current grades are: 1 A, 1 B, 1 C, 1 D, and 1 F (I seriously don't know how it turned out like this). I have an A in english, B in physics, C in government, D in art history, F in us history. My two teachers (art and us history) have not updated my gradebook for a while (3 weeks) now and because of that it seems like I am going to fail going to my dream college. I called the teacher and they promised to do it asap, but no update at all.

Does anyone know if it is possible to send another additional report once all my grades are updated? I emailed the admissions office explaining my situation.

Do you think its the end for me?

Thank you!

So are the low grades because the gradebook hasn’t been updated, and not because your work has been poor? I believe your counselor can add some comments if your first quarter grades don’t actually reflect your academic progress.

So my counselor was nice enough to call all my teachers. They corrected my work except my AP US History teacher. I got 1 A and 3 B’s.

She did include that the Quarter 1 grade is not accurate because there are assignments to be graded.

I called him and emailed him. He finally replied saying that he was sick and took a leave. But, I don’t believe him since he hasn’t graded any of my assignments except the very first one. Only the computer graded assignments get logged.

I called Wellesley explaining the situation and they said that my counselor and I can submit another report as soon as it is updated. I am planning to call the principal so my grades are updated before Thanksgiving.

Do you also think I should submit these grades as soon as possible? I heard the decision comes out Dec 11th.

Disclaimer: I don’t have any special knowledge how Wellesley makes their ED admissions decisions, although I have worked at another university and am familiar with how an admissions office operated.

The quarter 1 grades enable their office to determine if your work is staying at the same level as your prior HS record. They may have already made a decision to deny or defer you based on your application and your academic record through the end of your junior year. Or they may be planning to admit you and are waiting for quarter 1 grades to confirm you are still going strong.

Sometimes as subjects get harder HS students don’t do as well their senior year. Other times students who had a weak start in HS find their stride and by senior year they are doing great. The admissions office wants to make sure admitted students can handle the academic rigor of Wellesley,

So yes, submit your information as soon as you can. They have a lot of applicants to review and having as complete a file as possible will assist them in this process.

My teachers are on break until Dec 1st. It seems the earliest date to send them in is Dec 1st. I am afraid they already decided by that point, but I have to give it a shot. I called/emailed my teacher and he said he will do everything over the weekend. At least he apologized?

Thanks for your help!
