Quarter grade reports

Say i'm applying ED to a university which requires me to send in a quarter grade report. I've had straight A's all my high school year, but so far i've started off slow in my senior year. I expect half A's and half B's for my quarter grades. Do these quarter and midyear grade reports typically hold a lot of significance in admissions unless they're failing?

Probably not, since a quarter report probably only consists of, at most, two tests. In many of my subjects, we've yet to have a major test/project yet, and our marks are only based on homework checks. It wouldn't make sense to discriminate against otherwise fine students because of one mediocre test in September, when their SATs and report cards are impeccable.

I expect that it will depend on how much of a reach the ED school is - if it's a good match, you are probably ok. If its a longshot - might be ok, might be a deferral.
