Uh oh, were we supposed to send in our quarter grades after applying EA to Stanford? Thanks

I think our counselors are supposed to send those grades in. For my school we have two semesters, so by the end of the semester, my counselor will be uploading the midterm grades on to common app.

Stanford doesnt ask for first quarter grades.

therefore, no one will send them

Yay. K, thanks for letting me know.

that's not true, i sent first quarter grades, and i remember seeing somewhere that stanford will take this into account when evaluating your application. first quarter grades arent required, but if theyre good it could potentially help you to send them in

no they wont; that cant be true, I just read they dont consider it

They DON'T Take them.

i hear they take them, but it wont be an important factor, because its not official

remember it is a holistic process, i'm fairly confident they will take a look at them. they aren't required, so evaluation of them won't be official, but i do have a feeling they could help support an admit decision or tip the scales even the slightest bit, so long as they are good.

if someone can verify that they do not take them, please prove it

Don't "hear" that they take them. You either know or not. Read their website and PDF application requirements. They only ask for mid-year. If you send in your quarter grades, they'll just throw it away.

go to page 4, where they say:

"Please do not send us any other materials beyond
what is requested."

Plus, just call and ask them.

ah, he wins :]

sure by that logic though first quarter grades could be seen as an extension of the official transcript, in which case if the grades are available they HAVE to be sent in

they dont ask for it, therefore they dont need therefore they wont consider it, that is the same logic; phail

I think they would look at it, it's not like the admissions officers are some kind of computer programmed robots who follow the party line like their lives depended on it.

that's true too, but when I talked with one admissions officer, she was pretty damm stern about following regulations
