Hey guys,
I"m at UCI now, and we follow the quarter system. So far im taking bio, chem, and humanities, and i was planning on taking orgo and physics next year. that however leaves the issue of math to be dealt with. i do'nt want ot put it off that much, but i got a 5 on my ap calc bc test, so i could take multi, but i was thinking about just starting from single var calc this upcoming quarter. Would this 2/3s of a year deal work for me, or should i just take it next year? I'm kinda hesitant about taking it junior year, iunno, it seems to me like it'd look bad. any thoughts/advice?

I don't see why it would look bad to do math your junior year or even senior year. I believe most medical schools like to see things like chemistry and biology before you apply, but math is something that they don't mind you taking later. For example, I asked UCLA, and they said it's totally fine if I take some math my senior year and just put it under "classes that I intend to take".

As for which math classes to take, perhaps a premedical adviser would be the best person to help with that. I'm not familiar with your options at UCI. Good luck!
