Just how stressful is the quarter system? How much more work would you say you are doing compared to students at comparable schools that are on the semester calendar? Any comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I personally like it. Tests don't stop much (especially in certain majors that test a lot-i.e. math & science) once you get into the 3rd week of the quarter, but it's usually doable. We may be doing slightly more work (in terms of number of "finals"), but usually semester kids have more classes than we do, and it's a lot easier to fall WAY behind on a semester system (it's usually at least POSSIBLE to catch up on most of a class during reading week if you've slacked off completely---but on a semester system... catching up on 16 weeks of classes is near to impossible). We probably do a bit more work, but it's more varied, in my opinion.

Plus, with the quarter system, it's easy to take LOTS of different classes (we end up taking ~48 classes in four years, which gives you plenty of time to find something you like; and if you don't like your class, it's over in 10 weeks anyway, so you haven't wasted half your year or anything like that...
