Quarter system

D and I were looking at the DePaul website yesterday. I noticed they were on a quarter system or something like that. Do full time students (assuming a summer off) really attend class from late Aug-June? The way I understood it was a quarter from Sept-Nov., one in Dec. (I assume a single class?), another in Jan-March, and then March to June?

If some can please give me some insight into this, it would be appreciated. How many courses do students take each quarter, etc.

Thanks! (this might make a difference in whether this school makes the "list" or not)

Quarters run from Sep - Nov; Jan - Mar; and Mar - mid-Jun.

Thanks for the reply. DePaul seems like a neat school, and I've known people that attended, but that schedule doesn't make it an easy choice. I would guess that it makes it trickier for students to get summer jobs and internships since they couldn't begin until mid-June. Definitely something to consider.

Well it can be more difficult to get summer jobs there is a distinct advantage in winter jobs. Our winter break extends from before thanksgiving to after new years, meaning that DePaul students have access to the season employment during the most lucrative period. DePaul is also excellent at helping students get internships either during the year or over the summer in Chicago. Again, just the location gives students an upper hand.
