High School GPA: 95
- gov general medal
- community service award
- outstanding contribution to student life award
- highest marks in my grade in english, french, history, science 430, chemistry, and economics
- head of school academic excellence award (selected as best student by the principal, basically)
CEGEP;
Program: Arts and Sciences, CEGEP GPA: 85 (significantly higher if you eliminate P.E.), R-Score: 33
Refs: Stellar, the best most people have ever read.
ECs: - doctor shadowing and hospital volunteering
- started high school newspaper + have a monthly column in CEGEP newspaper
- wrote and produced the school play
- 8 years acting experience (professional + school and community theatre)
- EMS Cote St. Luc training
- teach drama + voice @ community centre, started drama program at day camp
- shad valley + harvard ssp alum (all A’s at Harvard)
- CEGE First aid team + student life committee
- prefect in high school
- science fair judge
- tutored disadvantaged kids for free
- 3rd in provincewide essay competition + poems published in international anthology + school literary journal
those are my best ECs… though there are pages more…

<p>Verdict: I’ve done a lot with my life thus far but my grades in physics, cal 1 and gym in CEGEP are the achilles heels of my application.</p>
<p>^nice stats. your applying this year correct? Where are you going to apply? By the look of your stats/ECs you seem like a great candidate for all schools, including prestigious ones</p>

<p>Does high school GPA matter? Or do they simply look at your CEGEP GPA only? Which one matters the most?</p>
<p>Oh and to those applying from cegeps, what do you guys think about the IB program (science) at Champlain College (St-Lambert)?</p>

<p>@leptons they don’t look at your college R-score. It’s too hard to calculate and they can never get all the numbers so…means nothing lol. Every school I called pretty much said the same thing. </p>
<p>My stats were pretty good. I got into USC (where I’ll be going) first choice, NYU in my first choice, and UCLA in my second. I’m still waiting to hear from Columbia, but it doesn’t matter because I’ll be going to USC. I wanted to study film so California > New York.</p>
