mmm?

The queen can have her crumpets!

Sounds like the joke was on her l0llll, she just might be old enough to be around in 1776 ;)

I don't really know much about Elizabeth II. But the fact that she's basically a figurehead w/ no real power to start anything (i.e. wars) makes me pick her over Bush.

How about Teflon Tony? His thinning, uncombed hair, gapped yellow teeth, and different sized eyes are very attractive to me.

theres so much talk about the wink, but if you really see, george bush is more powerful than the queen...

Theoretically, H.M. Queen Elizabeth II is the most powerful head of state in the world, but in reality, she exercises very little executive power. However, she has tremedous influence in British (even international) politics.

diehldun, can you offer examples?

My personal view is that the Monarchy is a beloved part of the UK and the British Commonwealth, and is highly respected globally. She is one of the world's longest serving Heads of State (55 years, 32 nations), seen 10 U.S. Presidents in office, and 11 British Prime Ministers. In addition to Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, remember that many countries that declared independence from the U.K. still recognize her as their official head of state. As I said earlier, theoretically, she is the world's most powerful Head of State.

But in reality, the Monarch is now pretty much a ceremonial position. But the Queen still has a significant role to play in the running of the country, and if anyone has seen "The Queen", it particularly highlights the PM's relationship with the Queen. They take their meetings with her quite seriously.
