I visited Northern Ireland last summer and I completely fell in love with it. I was looking at colleges, and I've begun to consider the possibility of going to college there. I was really looking at attending Queen's University Belfast. Is this a good school? I'm looking to possibly become an English major, if this helps at all.

Would it be wise to leave the US for all 4 years of college, or should I look in to just studying abroad for a year? Are there any other good colleges in either Northern Ireland or Ireland that I should look in to?

As you can probably see, I just need advice :)

QUB is alright, but not worth paying international fees for in my opinion. If you want to study in Ireland then consider Trinity College Dublin or maybe University College Dublin in the Republic.

Is it wise? I don’t know. I suspect it’d depend on what you wanted to do for a career. Look on www.the student room .co.uk (a British CC) for more information on QUB/studying in Ireland and the UK.

Thanks for the website! it’s really helpful.
Would Trinity be a good environment for an international student?

i applied for Trinity too and would have also loved to go there. A great and internationally famous school with great programs in English, philosophy and so on.

It’s a large school with many internationals and Dublin is a very liberal and nice place to live and I would suppose as an international you would not have any problems.
