I was unfortunately not a Questbridge finalist this year, but I am able to use my Questbridge application in place of the commonapp for only Northwestern. Northwestern happens to be the school I would really love to go to. Would it be more beneficial for me to apply to Northwestern using my Questbridge application or to apply with the commonapp? Aside from the benefit of no application fee. What im really asking is if I apply to Northwestern through the Questbridge regular decision process, when whoever is reading my application determining whether or not I am accepted, when they see that I am a Questbridge applicant, would that hurt my chances of being accepted? The Questbridge application brings to the light that I am a low income student, so would they see that I applied through Questbridge and be like "We dont want to pay for this kid, so were not going to accept him"? I know many schools try to be "need-blind", but I want an honest answer, if this could possibly happen. Northwestern is the school I really want to attend the most, and I feel like I am well qualified. I got a 35 on the ACT, 2 B's throughout my high school career, many extracurriculars, and a couple sports. I would like an honest answer. Thank you.

I don’t know, but I suspect the QB app will help your cause. Colleges that participate in QB apparently have a sincere desire to help low income applicants, so I’d be surprised if they would somehow “punish” you for using the QB application.

Good luck.

Top schools specifically recruit low-income students. They love QB applicants.
