Quesiton about Transfer Essays

The transfer essay states that it should be about 1 page in length. Mine is finishing up around 1.5 pages. Is this bad? Will they care?

Thanks

Well, I would try to cut it down...

it's not so "BAD" ...but you want to impress your admissions officer...not get them too tired from reading your essay. try to cut it into 1 page.

I would say don't go over 1.25 pages with 1" margins all around. The extra .25 wont matter much, since it most likely will turn out different when they print it out anyways.

Yeah, that extra half a page will make them exhausted.

Sarcasm aside:

It doesn't matter; however, most writers do not realize that they can excise a lot of what they write, yet still communicate even more effectively and succinctly their point. Training yourself to be a harsh editor requires time, but I suggest reading Strunk and White's "Elements of Style." The book is perhaps your best bet at making substantive reductions and disciplining yourself.

An admissions officer will not get upset at having to reading another half page; he or she will get upset if they realize that that half page could have been reduced to the previous page, and thus that they are reading redundant or poorl written information.

1.5 pages... That's 50% more than what they expect it to be...

Cut it down.
