I am in the process of completing my Quest Bridge application and it says that submitting standardized test scores are optional. However, it is recommended because they are a big part of the selection process. I am a high school Junior and I just got back my SAT score and it isn’t as high as I hoped it to be (1710), might I also mention, this is my first time taking it. Should I submit the score and upload my test score report?
I’d say to include your score if you think it will help your application. 1710 is an above average score in general, but if you look at the average scores of 2014 College Prep Scholars (1790-2070), it’s not too great. If it was me, I would send it, but ultimately it’s your call on whether or not you think it will improve or hurt your chances
Isn’t Questbridge due next fall?
Not college prep scholars, no.
Bobby10, I’m not sure what to advise considering the recommendation and the avg scores mentioned above. Prob send it. Fyi, there’s a separate QB forum though it is a bit slow at times. Scroll to very top of main fin aid page and you will see a blue banner with the aid sub forums. Maybe students are discussing it there.
applications are due March 25
Thank you for your opinion, gosh this forum works quick. Anyways, think I am just going to submit my past AP psych and calc BC tests in because I got a 5 on both of them.
@Babby10 @evanian15 those average scores of 1790-2070 where students with 25 to 75 pct, so there are students with lower scores forming the bottom 25 pct of the accepted student pool.
@BrownParent I forgot to mention that, thanks
@Bobby10 good luck!
If anyone is interested, I was selected as a 2015 College Prep Scholar! So don’t let SAT scores influence your decision to apply!!
Congrats, Bobby10! that is a super program- I have seen many great students come through it. Glad to know you will be one too
