Please read the College Match Program information on its website. Everything is there.

Parts of it are too confusing. For example I am in interested in applying to Princeton and Yale through questbridge assuming I make finalist. So if Yale doesn't match or rank me I don't get to apply early as Princeton will no longer have an ED program. So if I apply to Princeton during the regular round would having questbridge be an advantage for me? Also Princeton says they don't accept the Questbridge application in lieu of their own so then does the Questbridge application become a supplement for Princeton's own application?

for regular admissions, you have to apply to princeton separatly. I don't think questbridge will be of any help if you don't make it as a finalist.

Anyone going to the Stanford conference on Saturday?

Will it help if I do make it as a finalist? Can I Pm someone to get a basis on whether I have a good shot.

Does anyone know how much ECs contribute to being a finalist or not?

Well the conference today at Stanford was pretty informational especially the essay writing workshop. Got to talk to Yale's assistant director; it was pretty sweet. Columbia college really impressed me today, while the Princeton representative was so so. Overall conference was a good experience a bit long but not a waste of time.

do we get individual Q&A time? or is it pretty much a presentation and we just sit and listen?

We went through the workshops on personal statement, financial aid, and the college application- and we were free to ask questions about anything and everything. Then we had a college panel with admission officers from the Partner schools ( Including PTon and Yale) and were free to ask questions about anything and everything. From being on CC a lot of it will be review but it helped me think about exactly what I want in a college and to make contacts with admission officers .

Ugh. I don't think I'm going to apply for the scholarship. :( my SAT score, at the moment, simply just isn't high enough and I don't feel like putting in a lot of effort just to be turned down. :(

Rosh420, what is your SAT score? I think you may be underestimating yourself. And even if you do not win the scholarship, you will be recognized as a QuestBridge finalist. This is a status that holds a lot of weight at the partner colleges and even some of the elite colleges that are not partners with QuestBridge.

I just found this thread and was really excited to see it!!!

Two years ago I was going through all this confusion to apply to the College Prep Scholarship. Unfortunetly I didn't receive anything.

The next fall I wasn't thinking about applying for the scholarship because, if they didn't even want to give me SAT prep books, why would they want to give me a full ride scholarhip? Despite it, I applied again and was matched with a four year scholarship to my first choice, Scripps College!!!

I've been through all the confusion that you're going through. Yes, Questbridge can be disorganized and surprise when they choose to tell you things (some people found out about the match scholarship a full two weeks ina advance, while I received a phone call day of). Suck it up and deal with it, because it is so much more difficult for them and they are offering you so much with no reward for themselves! Take full advantage of this opportunity, even if you don't think you have a chance and be smart with the way you rank the schools.

Good luck, and feel free to ask me any questions on the forum!
