I know the acceptance notices aren't given out until late April, but because Notre Dame's African American Scholars Program had to fill in early I was notified today that I got in. If you got in, have questions, etc. just put it here.

I didn't see the march 31 deadline, do you think it's too late now?

@natethegreat: wait wait wait!! how did they tell you, through email or mail? did you fill in the boxes for the Harvard SSP, Yale Summer Session, and the Stanford Summer School? What are your stats (typicall CC question)? Should I be worried if I didn't recieve any notification yet or is this a good thing (because I might be considered for the Harv SSP)?

It most likely is, but you can check the website yourself.
www.questbridge.org- look for the College Prep Scholarship (for juniors, the National College Match is for Seniors).

XiΞiX, I actually got a call from Quest Scholars but I guess you're supposed to get it through e-mail. I checked for all of the summer programs, but the only reason I was told so early was because Notre Dame had to fill the 40 positions quickly. So the fact that most have not gotten any info is normal, don't expect any for a couple weeks (Apr. 25 I think).

the 25th seems years away. April is going to be interesting. Have you applied to other summer programs? Thanks, by the way.

I want to apply for a mini-course at Brown, but I don't know which one and the price is steep for me. I also plan to volunteer at a local hospital. How 'bout anyone else?

I applied to MITES (MIT program for minorities), SSP (not the Harvard one, different one in California/New Mexico), and YESS (Caltech program for minorities). Haven't heard back from any of them yet. So this month is the month of decisions. Eh.

Back-up plan if everything else fails: volunteer at local elementary school or my high school or work.

Are you applying for the college match later this year? and if so have you ranked the schools you are applying too? I haven't really thought about it yet, but I have a ranked list that includes a certain school that starts with a P. I can wish, can I?

Sounds rough. Can you still sign up for SSP?

I am definitely signing up for College Match, and the site says if you get a college prep scholarship you're more likely to get a College match. My list is full of reaches, but for Questbridge, its:
Columbia (#1 but only accepted like 6% this year)
Penn
Emory (home state)
Princeton (little chance)
U of Chi
Notre Dame

I just got an email from Questbridge and Notre Dame.

It's too late to apply to SSP. The deadline was the 21st of March. Your college list looks decent, applying to any safeties? And what state are you from?

Darn, oh well. I'm from Georgia, and my safeties are probably UGA, Georgia Tech, UNC, and NYU. Outside of Questbridge (not safeties) I would consider Georgetown, Cornell, Duke, and Brown.

I need to make my college list soon. Any suggestions on how to choose? I'm going to go insane with waiting. You're lucky you don't have too. Luckily I have AP exams I'm studying for plus an ACT, 3 SAT Subject Tests, and a Reasoning Test, all by June. Oh my.....

I applied for the junior program for Questbridge. i think i wanted something in standard or whatever, my application is such a blur. i wouldn't really consider their match program because i cant even find 8 schools in their list that i would like to go to i think it is 6 max. besides Questbridge i applied to TASP (I've done the interview, now to wait) and this internship with Roswell Park in Buffalo, New York. i get notified for all three in April. gahh! can you imagine the stress people!! :( lol.

oh and i have 4 subject tests and 4 AP's between May and June. someone go get a respirator but i at least have my college list down. : )

I have 4 APs, ACTs this Saturday, probably SATs in June, and I still have to decide when to take subject tests (and which to take!!!!!)

I doubt this will help but i am taking:
Math 2
Eng. Lit.
U.S. History
Physics

i'm in the same position:

-act this saturday
-sat I in may (i'm expecting a better score on the act, the sat isnt really my thing)
-APs in microecon, us govt, and english. the only one that i'm "worried" about (more like i'm not sure if i'll get a 5 rather than worried)
-subject tests in june in math IC, us history, and literature.

I applied for the global leadership thing at notre dame, but i'm not really pumped about it. if i get in, it'll be cool, but its not really at the top of my list. i applied through questbridge, not through ND. i also applied for harvard SSP through questbridge. does anyone know if i had to send in an app to harvard separately (like you had to with yale)? what im asking is: since i applied for harvard and ND through questbridge, will i still be considered, even though i only sent in the questbridge app?

i got a bunch of mail and email from questbridge. i never heard bout this org. and i wondered how it got my name and address.
i'm not rich or poor, but there's no one to pay for my college education. My dad would but he has no money. i don't have connection to my mother. my stepmom won't pay for my college education even she's middle class. so i guess i'll have to rely completely on scholarship and loans when paying for college.
but i didn't apply to questbridge b/c i don't think i would be qualified if they looked at household income, not based on family's willigness to pay for college.
