Questbridge Chance Me

Hi. I'm in the progress of filling out my QuestBridge application, and I would like an honest opinion (especially if you are a QuestBridge scholar, or know a QuestBridge Scholar) about my chances of getting matched with these schools:
1. Emory University
2. Rice University
3. Dartmouth College
4. Swarthmore College
5. Amherst College
6. Brown Univeristy
7. Yale University
8. Williams College

I've read some other "QuestBridge Chance Me's" and frankly, they're intimidating.

First, some information about my current school and goals:
I rank in the top 20 at my school out of about 500 students. The school I attend is the best public school in my city. My interests are biology (or pre-medicine), computer science, and economics.

Scores:
ACT (which I'm retaking this year): 31 (taken in first semester of my junior year)
SAT - haven't taken yet, but will
AP Studio Art - 5
AP Biology - 5
AP U.S. History - 5
AP Eng. Language - 4

GPA:
about 3.95 unweighted and 4.97 weighted.

Senior work load: 7 AP classes and 1 Honors class

Some Awards/Honors:
Letters About Literature state winner
QuestBridge College Prep Scholarship
QuestBridge Quest for Excellence: Southern Award
Participated in Student Exchange program (chosen after extensive process)

Main Extracurricular Activities:
Illustration Club (VP, 9th grade)
FHAO Club (10th-12th, now a "facilitator" in the club)
Robotics Club
School newspaper (11th grade, Cartoonist, Journalist, and Assistant Copy Editor)
City newspaper (11th-12th grade, journalist)
Blogging (11th-12th)
NHS

Volunteer Hours:
Over 300 - not including this school year because I haven't started volunteering again yet

Summer Activities:
Journalism Camp
Leadership Seminar

Recs and essays:
One from my Biology teacher, who taught me in both Honors and Bio. One from one of my English teachers--I'm not sure how that rec. will turn out, since I wasn't "stellar" in her class and didn't raise my hand to answer questions often like some of the other students did.
As for my own essays, I'll work at them until I'm satisfied.

Family income:
Way under 60,000.

Although I have no experience with the anything Questbridge related, I think you have a decent shot at most of those schools! Take the ACT again, and that will ensure it even more. Thanks for chancing me!

no problem! Thanks for chancing back.

I have never dealt with the Questbridge program before; however, as I understand it, it is a great advantage for you when applying to colleges. Your GPA is great for all of these colleges; your ACT is good too, but may be low for Brown and Yale (hovering around the 25th percentile). Other than that, you already mentioned it, but you may want to start developing a relationship with your English teacher, especially since this recommendation is so important. Thanks for chancing me!
