Questbridge Chances and Q's

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I have read the Questbridge Policies and i am a bit confused if i got their policy right. I live in michigan so if i apply to the Early Application to QB, I am still allowed to apply to the University of Michigan since it is my "home" college??(or does Umich not count as homestate university)
If this is not correct, is the following correct:
If i do not rank any colleges, i am not binded to any decision and can go about other EA processes. </p>

<p>I just really want to understand their policies and make sure i dont make a mistake when applying!</p>

<p>And lastly,</p>

<p>What are my chances for a scholarship?</p>

<p>GPA: 3.8 unweighted
ACT: 32(plan to retake september)
Parent has been unemployed for a couple years now
Colleges from QB i plan to apply: USC, Uchicago, Uvirginia, Rice U</p>

There is no homestate exception to the QB policy. If you rank any colleges, even non-binding ones, you cannot apply anywhere else Early anything. But if you don’t rank any colleges, you can apply early:</p>

College Match applicants cannot apply to other colleges through Early Decision, Early Action, or Single-Choice Early Action<em>(also known as Restrictive Early Action), even if all the schools ranked are non-binding schools.</em>Think of it this way: QuestBridge is a doorway to many selective colleges, each of which has their own early application policy. Applying to QuestBridge and another early program therefore violates thepolicies of many of our participating partner colleges.
College Match applicants may simultaneously apply to other colleges through those colleges’ Regular Decision (non-binding) processes. </p>

<p>Please note that students who apply to the College Match but do <em>not</em> rank colleges, or who are not selected as finalists, are not subject to any agreements with QuestBridge and are free to apply to any colleges for early or regular decision.

<p>I would actually like to know about this as well. According to the same page linked above ^, there is an exception for homestate universities.</p>

<p>Students may apply to any college or university that requires an early application for eligibility to special scholarships or programs, as long as the admissions decision is non-binding. </p>

<p>Students may apply to their home-state college or university with a non-binding early application option, as long as applying to QuestBridge does not violate that college’s policies.</p>

<p>Students may apply to any college or university with a non-binding rolling admission process.

<p>Yea thats exactly why i asked this question. My main goal is to get into umich but i would like to see my possibilities for a scholarship at other great universities. So its great that theres this exception to the policy</p>
