I did WAY better than I thought I ever would. I really think that QB helped a lot with preparation of my app. It might have also given those of us a head up on other applicants. I recommend QB for future applicants.

*applied through QB

Obviously, I was denied for most of my QB schools, and the beginning of the year was VERY stressful-ESPECIALLY with all of the essays. But the fact of the matter is that it was still completly worth it for me. I loved UVA to begin with (my grandma was pushing most of the ives 'cause they were free to apply to) AND it turns out to be a lot more affordable than UConn. I would still highly reccomend the program. It helped me get into and afford my perfect fit! =D

All schools are QB partners unless stated otherwise, and all decisions are RD unless stated otherwise.

Accepted:
Emory (waiting for FA offer)
Middlebury (non-QB, $9k/year)
Rice ($39k/year)
Truman State (non-QB, full ride)
Tulane (non-QB, $41k/year)
UVA (Likely Letter, Echols Scholar, waiting for FA offer)
Vanderbilt (non-QB, $54k/year)
Wesleyan (early write, $9k/year)

Waitlisted:
Brown
Dartmouth
Northwestern
WUSTL (non-QB)

Rejected:
Harvard
Princeton
Yale (:'[)

For my son:

Accepted:
UIUC (non-QB) with $18k/year merit scholarship
Amherst (early-write)
Williams (early-write)
Northwestern
Brown

Waitlisted:
Rice (with a 36 ACT and 1/400 class rank? They must be high!)

Rejected:
MIT
Yale
Princeton

Brown, Williams and Northwestern have come back with roughly the same financial aid packages; my son needs to work 8-10 hours a week during the school year and we have to come up with $3000 a year. That works out to be less than the cost of living at home and attending community college!

I’m a little disappointed, overall. Dartmouth and Brown were my dream schools.

I applied to Stanford and Yale nonbinding through early action but I didn’t get in.

Schools I forwarded my Questbridge app to for regular decision get an asterisk

Accepted to:
*UVA Echols Scholar (full scholarship)
*Wesleyan, early write (expected contribution $4000 plus $4000 in loans per year)
University of Chicago (expected contribution $3500)
Georgetown (expected contribution $590 per year)
Johns Hopkins (no FA - late paperwork
*Brown (expected contribution $3400 per year)

Waitlisted:
Washington University in St. Louis (should have demonstrated interest

Denied (again):
Stanford
Yale

So the application was super stressful and I felt like crap when I didn’t get in anywhere early, but it was all worth it because I got into my dream school Brown!!! I’m almost definitely going to go there even though it’s quite a bit more expensive for me than Georgetown or UVA, but I love Brown so much that I don’t care!!!

I don’t know if/where QB helped or hurt me, but here are my stats:

Rejected:
Brown
Columbia
Dartmouth
Yale
Stanford
Penn
Cornell (non QB)

Waitlist:
UChicago
Northwestern
Amherst
Pomona
Duke (non QB)

Accepted:
Princeton

I did not rank any schools though i was named a finalist. I included on common app that i was QB finalist and used QB app wherever possible.

Accepted:
Columbia (Likely)
Dartmouth
Pomona
Stanford
UPenn (Likely)
Yale (Early Action)

Waitlisted:
Amherst
Trinity College

Rejected:
Brown
Harvard
LeHigh
Swarthmore
Vassar

I got full everywhere I was accepted.

Accepted:
Northwestern (RD)
MIT (EA)

Waitlisted:
Princeton

Accepted:
Stanford University (Ranked then Deferred to RD)
Wesleyan University
Willamette University
University of Puget Sound
Hawaii Pacific University

Waitlisted:
Yale University (Ranked and Deferred to RD; Accepted Place on Waitlist)
Brown University (Accepted Place on Waitlist)
Amherst College
Oberlin College

Rejected:
Northwestern University

The application process was definitely stressful and sent my anxiety levels through the roof, but it looks like it was all worth it in the end. Although I’d never really considered Stanford as a choice before, I only did so because I never expected to actually get in! Stanford and Wesleyan were the only QB schools I got into, and I’m not sure of the effect my QB status had on the other non-QB schools I applied to. But for anyone who happens to read this and consider going through the College Match process, I would definitely recommend it.
