Questbridge Class of 2018 applicants

With the deadline looming on us, I figured this thread would be of use. Who’s finished EVERYTHING?

HaHaHaHaHa…no. Not even close. September is gonna be hell for me.

I’m almost done with the 500 word essay, so now I only have the 800 word essay and one of the 200 word ones. I plan on spending all my freetime from now until the 27th to work on it.

I finished them, but there is a 95% chance that I am going to rewrite them both.

I’m in exactly the same situation as @princefan1999. The 800 word essay seems so daunting due to how vague it is

I submitted my QB application today.

i finished my essays but i’m still looking for people to read over them

Aaa I’ve done two drafts for the 800 and one for the 500 but I feel like I’ll end up rewriting both of them in the next… 9 days //facepalms

Good luck to everyone who hasn’t submitted though, and congrats @Volunteerism !

Finished and edited up my essays. Just waiting for the counselor to finish up their part of it. Good luck to everyone applying!

Update: I feel very good about everything but the last fricking short answer question about how you would fit in on your future college campus. That questions is giving me fits.

@Princefan1999 Don’t overthink it. What exactly do you do now or hope to do in college? Any potential clubs or activities like writing, research, entrepreneurship? Or even personality-wise like listening, leading, etc?

Still got writer’s block with “What are your career goals and how did you develop them?” I’m not sure what I want to do, yet, but I know it’s in science and tech as I excel in those areas.

Submitted today!

@Princefan1999 I had the exact same issue! I think that it’s too short of an answer to really expect much, though. I ended up discussing how I love getting involved on campus and leading activities, but I don’t know if it came off correctly. It shouldn’t be a problem, it’s one of many questions.

Done! (glad that’s over)

Finishing the application yesterday, I’m so so relieved but worried about the very short answers because I felt like I could barely express myself. Did anyone try being funny in them lol? Not meeee

@Yayeducationlol I read a lot of those short answers and EVERYONE seemed to be interested in writing beautiful stories. I was functional.

I’m in an interesting situation because both of my essays were fairly depressing but my short answers all showed my weird sense of humor. I really hope they don’t think I’m trying to pull the pity card, though.

How are you guys choosing your college rankings?

I chose mine based on which colleges programs met my interests best
