The email address I used for QuestBridge is not the same as the one for my College Board account (where I get general mailings from colleges) and I have not received any emails from any schools at this new ‘QuestBridge’ email address. I did indicate interest in Yale (again, no emails from them) but indicated ‘not interested’ in Oberlin and Rice (the two schools where you go emails that mentioned QuestBridge in their email, or that had a QuestBridge stamp / logo in the email.) Not sure if that’s a bad sign for me or not. I am just putting it all in God’s hands and just have to believe He will get me where I need to be!
@Southern5062 Ditto! Put it all in God hands; Independent of the particular outcome at any given time, always feeling Blessed and Grateful.
I did get something in the mail from Yale with the little QuestBridge logo in the corner, but it was a flimsy “come to our school, we’ll pay” sort of deal, nothing fancy like a letter or an envelope. I did apply to Yale’s summer program so I’m hoping this is what I’ve been waiting for. I’ve also been receiving emails from Yale and Emory (another program I applied to) advertising their summer programs so maybe it’s a sign lol
@HERCULES_HERCULES You were right, she told me that they were still “hard at work” on the applications and to expect decisions by the end of April.
@MaybeHarvard2022 Did you email Questbridge today?
@MaybeHarvard2022 Judging from the wording and if that’s the case, this year may be another outlier like 2015’s, and come out with the results on the 28th or something. I’m so impatient uUhuHGhHghYuGh flips table (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Plus we don’t know who wins Quest for Excellence awards until June. I lack patience.
@CMKingOfFl On 2015 thread one person announced they had gotten a Quest for Excellence award in May.
Re: the Quest for Excellence Awards (Arts, STEM, USA, etc) - I thought I read in a previous year’s thread that when the student opened their email, they learned immediately that they were a Prep Scholar, AND had been invited to an admissions conference, AND had won a Quest for Excellence award (with the $1000 for laptop or college visit). Does anyone else recall that? I know it could be May to learn if accepted to a QFE college summer program… but I thought we would know ‘right away’ if we (a) were invited to an admissions conference, and / or (b) won one of the “$1000 for technology or campus visit” Awards such as QFE Arts, STEM, USA, etc… Thoughts?
@MaybeHarvard2022 Oh that’s cool. Maybe they decide to give us a gift and tell us in the email they send for prep scholars (assuming acceptance).
@Southern5062 no, you have to log in. You get an email prompting you to log in.
@MaybeHarvard2022 yeah that probably means next week.
Everybody we may be an outlier year! I hope not, but it is the sad truth.
@HERCULES_HERCULES You are correct - The email we get will just say to log in - and then I guess when you log in you see what you’ve won - if anything!
@Southern5062 Oh that’s so much better. Less waiting time makes me happy.
I am so anxious. I didn’t get any emails that look related to questbridge. But congrats to those of you who get the nomination.
@zzzzzhuuuuu Don’t worry, I didn’t get anything remotely related to Questbridge either.
We can be anxious together! ヅ
I wasn’t even nervous about the Questbridge application results until I came on here. Thanks, guys.
I’m glad this thread was helpful! lol
@xxluvforeverxx honestly that’s been like everyone in this chat for the last week or 2
@xxluvforeverxx All jokes aside, you shouldn’t stress. The decision the board comes to is just that, the decision the board comes to. Yes, you will probably be distraught if you receive an undesired decision, but it will be what it will be. Everything is Everything!
@xxluvforeverxx yeah @HERCULES_HERCULES is right. The worst they can do is reject us. And that will only sting for a couple of days. It won’t be the death of us. Just sleep well and take care of whatever other business you have to take care of.
