Questbridge College Prep Scholarship 2014

I don't think there is a thread for this yet but I decided to make one. We can talk about the scholarship, our stats, essay and more here. Also who else is excited to find out the results? Only two weeks left of April you guys! :D

I have been waiting for this forum to start! I am really excited for the results. Do you think they will come back right at the end of April or before then? :D

@bluestar11 I was actually hoping they would come out during my spring break, instead of during school. There are a couple of last year winners from my school, they actually got theirs in May not April. So where are you from?

Ahh I’m so anxious for the results!
A little disheartened because I haven’t heard anything from any of the summer programs (from what I gather you get notification of nomination for them before the results are released).
From Michigan!

So glad I found this forum! Really can’t wait to hear my results and I hope I get something. Yeah, my friend was notified of a nomination for one of the summer programs, but had to turn it down. No such luck for me… really nervous.

I actually have not checked my mail or portal in a while… I am going to go do it right now. I don’t really care which award I get as long as I get something. @bluestar11 , @chaoticpuppy @TheAutumnLeaves how did you guys think you did on the application? I would go to bed at 2am just trying to finish an essay. Also even if we don’t get it guys at lest we got to experience how college applications will be like :D

Yeah the experience was pretty great, I’ll admit that. I do really hope I get one of the college visits though because I can’t wait to see campuses. As for my application, I kind of put it together last minute so I’m not expecting much.

@theautumnleaves I want the college counselling award or the summer program. I think those will be more informative and helpful then the rest.

I asked for the Northwestern visit and the summer programs at UPenn and Stanford. I also applied for the Quest for Excellence awards for first generation and business. I think next week we will get a notification.
Are you guys going to apply for National College Match?

@ninadasiy I applied for pretty much everything they had. I am going to apply for NCM, although I am kind of confused on how the whole process works. Also guys do any of you want to share what you wrote for your essay and school status?

I didn’t write the personal statement until the evening before it was due, but I thought it was very heartfelt and “raw”. I will be applying for NCM, but I won’t rank schools because I rather apply to my dream school early.
Hoping for a summer program, although keeping in mind that about 40 scholarships are granted.
I’ll be ecstatic to receive anything though!

Hey sorry about responding so late! I think I did pretty well on my essay, I tried to write very honestly. I’m hopping for the visit as well as the summer program but honestly would still be happy with whatever they decide to give me. I’m from florida btw! :D

Yeah I also saw that last year’s winners came out in May… I hope they come out soon as I am waiting to confirm for another summer program if this doesn’t go through. Questbridge is by far my first choice though compared to the other programs I have applied to.

I think my essay was amazing. I am very happy w/ all my essay that I wrote. My personal essay I wrote about my dyslexia, how my family drives me, and the mask I put on for the world.

I just checked today and no news yet. Do you think they will email us or just put it straight up on our Questbridge account?

@bluestar11 My friend said that they e-mailed her to go check on Questbridge.

@bluestar11‌ just wondering, how do you have a weighted gpa of over 5? aren’t ap classes out of 5.0 and regular classes out of 4.0? perhaps we have different systems

and yeah I think they email you to tell you to check your QB portal.

Three of my six activities are volunteer work LOL hopefully my passion for community service showed through my essays and such. I really wish I had had more time to revise them :/
