I recently received an email from QuestBridge that basically stated that “believe * could be eligible” for their program and that I was invited to apply to the 2017 National College Match. I understand that QuestBridge is a program for low-income, high-achieving students to assist them in getting into the nation’s top universities. Academically, I fit the bill, and that is probably why I received the email. Financially, I am a bit confused. I do not come from an incredibly rich family (like top 1%), but my household is definitely nowhere near the $65,000 mark I hear about this program. The only reason why I could see myself possibly qualifying for this program is because I am a twin, and putting two kids through college at the same time seems almost impossible. Anyway, if any of you have some insight on the QuestBridge process, that would be very helpful. I’m kinda surprised that I receive this email to be honest.
Honestly unless your family income is near the 65 mark they mentioned I don’t think your odds are all that great. One of my close friends applied for Questbridge and ended up not getting the scholarship because her family income was too high. Although I didn’t ask her what they considered “too high” I would say her family income is probably 70-90k. You can still give it a shot but just don’t get your hopes up.
Yeah, I never would have even considered Questbridge if it wasn’t for this email. I am kinda confused as to why i received it in the first place…
Honestly once you hit the junior/senior mark all types of scholarship agencies and colleges will start sending you emails even if you don’t really fit what they’re looking for.
I got that email a year or so ago also, despite having income much higher than $60k. I think Questbridge must buy your info from Collegeboard or ACT.
