Last week, my daughter submitted the required materials to the colleges she ranked, including all financial documents. She submitted her Common App over the weekend. Today, she received an email from QB encouraging her to apply RD after the results are in on December 2nd. Did anyone else get this email? I am wondering if it was a general email sent to all the QuestBridge finalists.

It is a general email (I got it and opted out of the match for ED). Basically the same thing happened at the CPS conferences, they emphasize that while match is great, RD is where most finalists who get into partner schools get their acceptances and that finalists should plan accordingly.

I would go a little further in my recommendation. All finalists should have schools other than QB schools to which they apply. In 2012, around 37% (estimated) of finalists were accepted at QB schools - [Acceptance Rates](http://www.questbridge.org/for-students/ncm-acceptance-rates). Doing the math, this means that 63% of finalists were not partnered with a QB school. As my son was not a finalist, I am not sure how much QB stresses this fact. I am sure that they do, but make sure that you have applications out to non QB schools. While the acceptance for QB finalists is higher than non QB applicants at the partner schools, the fact remains that about 63% of finalists are NOT accepted to a QB partner school.
