Questbridge match or Princeton SCEA

Hello! Princeton is my top school and I'm applying to questbridge. I've heard that Princeton match is very very competitive and although I'm low income, I haven't had extremely bad economic situations. Do you think I have a better chance not ranking schools for match and applying SCEA or ranking Princeton for match? Here are my stats. Thanks!

ACT w/o writing:33(31E, 33M, 34R, 34S)
ACT with writing:33(33E, 34M, 29R, 36S, 10W) (I'm taking it again in October)
SAT:1890
SAT Math I: 790 Chemistry: 530...
APs: world history: 3, APUSH: 4

ECs
7 years concert band (section leader 5 years)

5 years pep band (section leader all 5 years)
4 years marching band (section leader all 4 years)

5 years varsity tennis (MVP 3 years)
2 years chess team (captain both)
4 years academic team (captain 3)
3 years STLP
4 years Beta club
2 years Key club

Senior course load
Duel credit:
ENG 101+102
BIO 110+Ecology
PHI 110+130
MAT 107+108

AP: Computer science, calculus AB, physics B,
Then Spanish II

Class rank: 1/72
Income: 26,000 family of 3
parents own business: that's how I spend most of my free time
Hooks: I'm from a persistently low achieving high school in southeastern Kentucky?

Thank you so much!

I am not certain how Questbridge works but for SCEA your scores would not be a strong match for admission. If you re-take the ACT you still have a low number in your SAT II category (chemistry) that you should also consider trying to improve. To be sure, scores are not everything but my opinion is that you would want to fall within the upper range anyway to be considered a viable candidate.

One more thing - I believe Princeton requires writing to be included in the ACT to be used in admission decisions. So as you indicated above, you’d need to retake it with writing.

Cantiger: a QBridge (pgm that gathers top applicants from low income families) applicant with a 33 ACT is competitive.

42CS: if Princeton is your first choice, then I’d say bite the bullet, get the QBridge stuff done and go for it. Best of luck to you. Congrats on your achievements to date.

@T26E4 - thanks! That is helpful to know!
