Questbridge Match Question

Hi everybody!
I’m only a junior but I have been looking at the NCM program just so I have a clear understanding of what I’m applying for when August comes.
My questions are:
If you are chosen as a finalist and:

  1. If you apply through RD, are admissions binding?
  2. If you apply through Match and rank, but don’t get accepted, can you apply to more colleges that aren’t partner colleges through RD? What about more partner colleges?

I was named a Questbridge Finalist this year…but I was not matched :frowning:

  1. If you apply through Questbridge RD, admissions are NOT binding. That is why a lot a lot of people will do QB RD, because they don't like the idea of being "stuck" with a school (binding). However, this means they won't get that "full ride".
  2. (This is me) You can apply to as many more partner colleges as you want THROUGH QB regular decision. For a bunch of the schools you don't even need to do the usual RD application since they will take your QB application. It was really easy. When you find out that you did not match with a ranked school, you get a list of all the partner schools (including the ones you ranked) and you check off each school you want to apply to through RD. You have about a week to choose/add on. For NON-partner schools, you have to go the traditional route outside of QB. So you get the best of both worlds: apply to the partner schools through QB, and apply to all other schools the traditional method.

Hope this wasn’t confusing…I know I was confused during the QB process! Who knows—maybe I’ll get into a partner school RD and still become a Quest Scholar! Fingers crossed :wink:
