Let me start off by saying that I am only a raising sophomore, and I have a while before applying to questbridge. However when I do apply, Stanford will be my number one choice, probably my only choice. I am interested in other partner schools, (wellesley, brown, usc, Notre dame etc.) The problem is, these are all binding schools, while Stanford is not. My question is, would it make more sense to just rank stanford for questbridge, or to apply EA to stanford, (hopefully as a Questbridge Finalist) and skip ranking? Which option yeilds the highest chance for getting accepted?

There is some risk with Stanford SCEA. Very few applicants are deferred so the overwhelming majority are rejected. I would say go for the match. If you don’t get matched, then you will still be able to apply to Stanford RD. There is little difference between SCEA and RD at Stanford.

I actually would disagree. I would do SCEA (which has a higher acceptance rate then RD), the match rate to Stanford is very low. That being said you will have to wait and see if you are ready to apply EA or if RD would be a better bet it general…

bump! more opinions please?
