Anyone have any clue on how many QBers UChicago usually accepts EA?

Congrats to all who were matched and good luck to those who are forwarding the QB apps! Unfortunately, I wasn’t matched to my ranked college but I’m still forwarding it for regular decision! The only college I ranked was USC, and the good part about USC is that I don’t have too fill out the common app nor do I have to ask QB to forward my application! I’m even considered on time for their merit scholarship deadline. Now all I have to do is wait…patiently…UGH!!! Why can’t Feb/March come already!!! lol

@countrygal, my packet didn’t come in until this past Monday, so yours should be on its way.

Infirmitas - My son, who wasn’t a finalist, received an e-mail from Carleton. They offered to reactivate his app and would let him know if they needed anything else. I think he got that e-mail on the 4th. I say this shows interest and I would definitely apply.

Did any one who was matched get an email from Yale? I was matched with Stanford but I got this from Yale the day afterwards:

Dear magictimelord,

Congratulations on your QuestBridge College Match to Stanford University! Since you expressed interest in Yale during the College Match process and because Stanford University practices non-binding admissions, we are writing to let you know that your application will automatically be considered for admission to Yale in the Regular Decision round unless you let us know that you wish to withdraw by replying to this message.

Please note that in order for your application to be reviewed, we need to have your Common Application, Yale Supplement, Secondary School Report, and two Teacher Recommendations as well as the required standardized testing. You will be able to check the status of your application online using your Eli Account so please double check to confirm we have all the information required. The only new piece of information that is required of ALL finalists moving forward, is the MidYear Report form. This form is to be filled out and submitted to our office by your counselor once your first semester grades become available. Although it is not necessary, if you wish you may mail our office a brief letter updating us on any achievements or developments since you submitted the Common Application.

Congratulations again on your match, and please don’t hesitate to reply to this email if you have any questions about Yale or the admissions process.

Sincerely,

Jean Lee
Associate Director

@magictimelord

I didn’t rank Yale so I didn’t get the email but I’ve gotten similar emails from schools I did rank. Congrats on Stanford! But since it isn’t binding, Yale probably wants to read your application and since they’re Ivy too, I’m sure there financial aid packet can be good.

But if you’re sure about going to Stanford then just email them and ask them to withdraw your application.

My son was matched with Yale but he got same letter from MIT and Columbia. Still he wants Yale.

I was matched with Carleton college, anyone else in here matched by chance?

Sleeta, ds1 is a junior at Carleton. Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

Has every one received at least a phone call or even the official acceptance in the mail from the school you were matched with?

I was matched to Davidson but I haven’t gotten anything yet. All the QB site said was “early December” but we’re kinda halfway through now…

wondering if I’m just being impatient or if I should contact the school?

Back up a few pages, and you will see that the other person posting in here who was matched to Davidson has also not received anything. I am guessing that they like to send everything out together, that is, your stuff will be sent with the ED packets. Next year, you will be a QB scholar on campus and you can work to change this situation!

Hey everyone who wasn’t matched:

I ranked MIT and Stanford and was devasted when I didn’t match to either of them.

On Saturday, I got accepted to MIT Early Action!!!

DON’T GIVE UP HOPE! Lots of people are accepted in regular decision who aren’t matched!

Good luck!

Have there been questbridge finalists who were rejected from their ranked schools? I only ranked USC and I’m afraid I’ll get rejected because of my low test scores. :-(

crystal59 - did your son rank Yale above MIT and/or Columbia?

magictimelord - did you rank Stanford above Yale or the other way around?
