I didn't see a thread for this year so I decided to start one.

The deadline for the application is this Friday and I'm kind of getting nervous about the recommendations, which my teachers haven't uploaded yet. Has anyone already sent in their application or is in the same boat as me?

My teachers were really speedy on uploading their recommendations, I’m a little worried about my counselor though. :

I feel fine about everything, except for the fact that I won’t take my SAT until October 5. Otherwise I feel my chances are feasible. But still… you know.

AimHigh, one way that students can gently remind their recommenders is to send a thank you note or even email in advance of the deadline, which will prompt them if they need a nudge! Some students have said that they included a small box of chocolate or other token gift…don’t worry, it will all get done! GL to you!

Already submitted mine. My religious fundamentalist parents told me that we are in an inauspicious time lol. My counselor submitted his rec too.

My D just noticed her counselor hasn’t sent his stuff yet :(. He doesn’t like QB because they make him write out stuff and fill out forms he has already done for the Common App and he wants them to accept that so he doesn’t have to do the extra work…yikes. Hopefully he will get it in on time. I heard from a QB veteran that the site is slammed on Friday so if you can get your app in earlier it will probably go faster and easier for you.
MIT - I bet your parents made that up so you wouldn’t procrastinate! I might try that on my D lol!

I just submitted my app. Haven’t gotten a confirmation email tho, should I be worried? Im so nervous im shaking x) good luck to everyone. Just be proud of yourselves for doing this

Good luck everyone, there are a lot of parents rooting for you! You have already accomplished so much…otherwise you wouldn’t be so far along in this process…it will all work out, one way or other, never fear!

Do you know if I need to include the Common App ID if I’m not planning on ranking any colleges? (Yes I know it sounds stupid…but I would like to know anyway)

Absolutely! you all have waves of good juju coming your way from devoted parents, admiring well wishers (and the blessings of the ancestors too, IWillKill :)…) You all deserve all good things and everything will work out exactly as it should. When the time comes, remember the perennial CC wisdom: love the school that loves you!

I finished at 2am EST, 11 am PST. So glad I’m on the East Coast! I felt so bad because it was my mom’s birthday and we had a few more sections to do after her birthday dinner last night. We just found out about the program last week, so I had to juggle Homecoming week but she kept pushing me to do it. I think she was even more excited than I am. My teachers are amazing and got my recs in but I noticed my counsel our (who’s new) still hadn’t uploaded my SSR. Hope she faxed it yesterday!
