QuestBridge -- Princeton?

OMG, this questbridge thing is driving me crazy. Is it easier to get in for low income people through questbridge?

Some people told me I’m wasting my time w/ QB, and that it is a hoax, but the profiles on the Internet look like dreams come true.

Also, why are the academics of QB matched students are so low? I mean more than half of them scored lower than 1300/1600, which, for top schools, seem pretty low.

I’m very low income, immigrant, but I’m asian and NOT 1st generation. How much consideration will I get compared to a URM, higher income 1st generation?

Watson&Crick:
QuestBridge is not a hoax–many students get in to great colleges through QuestBridge every year. Whether it gives you an advantage or not is debatable–while the president of Amherst has explicitly said that QuestBridge applicants have a slight edge, this policy is likely different at other colleges. In any case, applying through QB will highlight your low-income, immigrant situation, potentially giving you an advantage. (it’s for this reason that QB stats are relatively lower–they focus on disadvantaged students, whose stats tend to be slightly worse than the average acceptee’s) Don’t worry too much about your chances relative to other applicants; it seems from your description that you fit QuestBridge’s profile perfectly.
