Questbridge Regular Decision Forwarding

Hey guys, quick question here.
Is there anything wrong with checking off the boxes for more colleges than you're thinking of applying to at the moment?

For example: Apart from the colleges I ranked, I want to apply to several other schools, but I'm not entirely sure if I'd apply there as of right now. I know the app fee is waived for all QB schools, but there's the issue of test scores and CSS forms that I need to pay for. Would it be fine to have Questbridge forward my app but end up not completing their app in the long run?

Of course, this doesn't mean I'll check off all 33 boxes. Just a number in the upper teens.

I have another question. Do you have to send teacher recs again, or are those forwarded from QB?

For schools that see your QB app, I’d assume that you wouldn’t have to. For schools that disregard your QB app … good question.

Ds asked QB, and they basically said to read the RD requirments. Sorry, but I don’t think it’s helpful enough. We get that the schools want recs, but they’ve already been sent to QB and QB supposedly is forwarding everything so it seems like a waste to ask for another set to be sent. And yet, that’s what ds has done.

S13’s interviewer from Yale contacted the Yale admissions office on his behalf (and that of other interviewees, presumably). The admissions person said that they suggest that the QB students have their teachers and counselors resubmit their teacher recs and the school report/counselor rec. They should re-use everything from the QB app, but send it again.

This is a school he ranked and already sent stuff to, so based on this limited experience I’d say that double-sending is better. For the stuff that doesn’t cost money.

wally - I can’t imagine that there’s a penalty to selecting a school and then not completing the application for a variety of reasons, but I’d try to be realistic about it. If you were given unlimited Profiles and Scores, where would you apply in the time you have before the deadlines? And if money is the reason, let the schools know that’s why when you don’t finish. That way you don’t leave a negative impression of QB applicants.
