Does anyone know what colleges llook at. do they only look at ur senior yr grades and sat and other stuff or do they look ALL ur grades from frshman to senior yr???? Cuz my grades from spohmore and freshman year were messed up, and dont have to worry about jr. and sr. year. plz reply bak......!!

depends where u wanna go

Most colleges look at all your high school grades (freshman to senior-first semester). Some colleges, mostly in California, look at Sophomore year to senior year (first semester). However, if your grades are on an upward trend (say, C's in Freshman year, B's Sophomore year, A's Junior year) colleges view that favorably. Colleges also look at rigor of schedule, extracurriculars, in addition to the standardized test scores.

thanks for the replies. im aiming for cornell ( i see it more as a dream than reality) but yea my grades from freshman yr so jr year so far have been an upward trend. freshman yr it was a 3.3 (ughhhhh) and sophmore yr it was 3.8 and im gonna be a junior next yr and i def no my gpa willl be around 4.0 or abov e cuz im taking mostly all honors classes.
---> srry another ?
- when they look at ec activities do they look at how LONG uve been in them or how much R U IN??? cuz so far ive been in 2 clubs, and i want to joing like 4 next yr.

Colleges like quality, not quantity. They'd prefer a few activities where you are truly committed and might have a leadership position or awards. Just joining clubs will not suffice, especially this late in the game. Join more only if you are truly interested. Focus on dedicating yourself and gaining leadership. I have to say, though, that only 2 activities is quite low. Do you have other activities besides school clubs? A sport, an instrument, a job, activities outside of school?
